The new all-electric Ferrari Luce

“Ours is not an electric car. Ours is an electric Ferrari. And those are two very different things.”  -Ferrari's Chief Product Development Officer.

Ferrari’s first fully electric car, Luce (Italian for “light") has been revealed, and the conversation isn’t about the range or batteries this time. It’s about the interior and interface.

Every element has been meticulously designed and engineered to be functional, intuitive and thrilling to drive. Developed with LoveFrom, the studio of Jony Ive (formerly of Apple) and Marc Newson, the Luce interior seems like a considered product ecosystem. In a market dominated by oversized touchscreens, Ferrari moves in the opposite direction: back to tactility.

“The Ferrari Luce has to do many things, forging a new technological identity for the brand, as well as a new path through largely uncharted but undeniably treacherous territory.” - Wallpaper

The Luce's interface is designed with clear organisational principles. Controls and displays are grouped functionally, with the most essential commands and feedback directly in front of the driver.

"It’s a bizarre and lazy assumption that the interface should be digital if the power source is electric. I love Ferrari’s connection with the joy and love of driving. Their engineering team are breathtaking – we spent a lot of time trying to make this functional, simple and effective." - Jony Ive

The control panel is a self-contained articulating panel that augments the driving experience, combining mechanical controls with a digital touchscreen.

“At first glance, the ensemble exudes a classical elegance, an analogue familiarity that invites touch and engagement. This is not an intimidating interior, far from it. It’s a space that celebrates materiality, engineering, innovation, craft and information design, rendered with a signature precision that preserves the dominance of the physical over the digital, even though there's a reliance on the latter for the actual display of information.” - Wallpaper

The key represents the driver's persistent, personal connection to their Ferrari Luce. When the key docks, the historic Ferrari yellow surges from the key across the interface.

The yellow Ferrari badge is the Luce's key...... it clips magnetically into the centre console, sinks down flush with the glass surface and the e-ink badge background turns black

The exterior and full reveal of the Luce will take place by mid 2026.

“Building a car is an incredibly difficult endeavour, and it really takes the passion of so many people. And we really wanted to give ourselves the time, to make sure that every single detail was at the best possible of what we could collectively do.” - John Elkann, Ferrari Executive Chairman

From racetracks to EVs, Ferrari is driving toward the future. As Enzo Ferrari famously said: 'The best Ferrari ever built is the next one.'
